Lenovo Unveils New VR-Ready Mobile Workstation
Lenovo merely refreshed its Lenovo ThinkPad line-up with a trio of new mobile workstations, one of which is the first Lenovo ThinkPad to exist certified for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) headsets.
The new Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a replacement for the Lenovo ThinkPad P70, a heavy and bulky notebook that is known to be very powerful thank you to its Intel Xeon processors and NVIDIA Quadro graphics embedded within. Upgraded models of the Intel Xeon, an E3 v6 entry, and NVIDIA Quadro, a P5000M, let this new take earn VR-set up certifications from Oculus, HTC, and NVIDIA.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P71, which at 3.5kg is a tenth heavier than its predecessor, comes with either a 1080p or a 4K display, upwards to 64GB RAM in four slots, and up to 2TB of PCIe storage. As with the Lenovo ThinkPad P70, buyers tin opt for a Intel 7th Generation Core i7 instead of an Intel Xeon CPU, merely lose the power to chose a touchscreen in doing so. This option came equally a default in the previous generation.
Finally, Lenovo also unveiled the new Lenovo ThinkPad P51. Information technology offers a pick of Intel Xeon or Core processors and Total HD, 4K, or touch displays. Thanks to its heft, as it comes in at 2.5kg, it can pack in four memory slots and a more powerful graphics carte, the NVIDIA Quadro M2200M, compared to the Lenovo ThinkPad P51s.
Lenovo noted that all three models offer dual-fan cooling systems and 2400MHz DDR4 RAM, ensuring it has the fastest memory available in a mobile workstation. The Lenovo ThinkPad P51s will be bachelor in March 2022, starting at United states$1,049, while the Lenovo ThinkPad P51 and P71 will exist available from April 2022, starting at Usa$1,399 and US$ane,849, respectively.
